Timo Salmi GAMEs release 1.3 (TSGAME13) includes the following more or less
* * **** * *
educational games.
HEXAGAME (Ver 1.3)
Hexagame is an educational variation of the good old number guessing game.
In this variation the hidden number can be a hexadecimal ranging from 100 to
FFF.
You can also play in other number bases. The bases available are 2, 8, 10
and 16. Choosing 10 gives you the original easy version of the game.
Scoring: Initially you have 400 points. For each guess you loose 10 points
and for each second elapsed you loose one point. So you have to be both
rational and fast.
Review: Hexadecimal means a number in base 16. E.g. C7B (or c7b) is 3195 in
decimal (12*256 + 7*16 + 11). To teach you non-decimal numbers, the program
shows your each guess also in decimal.
Release notes: Version 1.3: The game can now be aborted at any time by
giving quit as input.
MANAGAME (Ver 1.5)
An introductory one-person management game.
This is a management game for one player. Besides being "one more game", it
serves as a serious introduction into full-scale management games for
business students.
The firm produces and sells a single product. Each period you have to make
four decisions: production, price, advertising, and purchase of additional
capacity. The purpose of the game is to ensure the future of the company by
attaining a prosperous financial situation.
Your result is the better the longer you can avoid bankruptcy. Still better
if you can attain the stable financial position in a minimum number of
periods. To accomplish this in 10-15 periods is an exceptional feat.
To play study the initial position, and experiment! The production decision
is the number of units produced, price decision is price per one product in
dollars, advertising is to total dollar amount for the period, and capacity
purchase is given as how many units of the product can be produced with the
new capacity. Notice that capacity is subject to wear and tear.
MLTIGAME (Ver 1.4)
Teaches the multiplication table as a simple game. You have to answer to
five tasks as quickly as you can. Scores will be stored to a mltigame.sta
statistics file on the default device.
